Board of Commissioners

CMHA policy is determined by its Board of Commissioners, which is made up of five members. The Board is comprised of two members appointed by the Mayor of the City of Columbus, one appointee each from the Court of Common Pleas, Probate Court and the Franklin County Commissioners for five year terms.

James L. Ervin Jr.
Chairperson
As the Vice President and North American Regional Chief Compliance Officer for Toyota Industries North America Inc. (TINA), James leads a team ensuring that TINA and its parent company, Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), uphold their ethics and compliance programs as a key competitive advantage. With a global presence in industries like textile machinery, material handling, and electronics, TICO is driven by its commitment to societal contribution.
James lives by four pillars: faith, family, servant leadership, and a strong work ethic. His passion for service extends beyond the workplace, as he is actively involved in charitable, philanthropic, and civic organizations.

Frederick L. Ransier III
Vice Chairperson
Frederick Ransier III, retired partner from the Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease LLP Columbus Office, has served on the board since September 21, 2021 when he was appointed by Franklin County Board of Commissioners. He was also a member of the bankruptcy practice and the government affairs and lobbying group. One of Ransier’s specialties is real estate, and he has worked extensively with both the commercial and residential real estate industries.
Ransier has served as the Bankruptcy Trustee for the Southern District of Ohio since 1988 and represented clients in commercial and real estate matters. He received his J.D. from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Central State University.

Dorothy "D" Malone
Commissioner
D Malone has led a life of public service in Columbus for over 20 years. In that time, she has worked in the government sector from the Office of the Governor to the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Treasurer of State and more. Transitioning from government work, Malone continued her community service for faith-based organizations. She is now the Director of Faith-Based and Community Engagement for the Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services Board of Franklin County.
She contributes her expertise and mentorship to other community organizations such as the Community Service Advisory Committee for the United Way of Central Ohio, as well as to countless young professionals and small-business owners. Malone has a Master of Arts in organizational leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Christian ministries from Mid-America Christian University. She was appointed to the board by the Mayor of the City of Columbus in January 2023.

Jacquelin "Jackie" Lewis
Commisssioner
Jackie Lewis is a partner at Bricker & Eckler’s Public Finance Group, where she specializes in public finance and public law with an emphasis on school and local government law. She also brings extensive experience in economic development, particularly in the areas of tax increment financing, new community authorities and community reinvestment areas.
Lewis has used her expertise in her roles on the boards of many community organizations, including the Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County and Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority. She has her J.D. from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, a Master of Arts in public policy and management and Bachelor of Arts in French and international relations from The Ohio State University. Lewis was appointed to the board by the Mayor of the City of Columbus in 2023.

Stephen Daley
Commissioner
Stephen Daley was appointed to the board by the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Probate Division in July 2023. Daley has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. Currently, he is a financial advisor and owner of Highview Advisor Group, a private wealth advisory practice.
Daley brings his financial expertise to many different community organizations — from teaching finance as an adjunct professor at Columbus State Community College to serving on the Bowling Green State University Board of Trustees and chairing its Financial Affairs and Facilities Committee. Daley has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and holds his Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor certifications from the College of Financial Planning.
